SIMPLE MODE
Realm-easy on the first run.
The benchmark for onboarding is a Minecraft Realm. If Garrison is harder than that for a total newcomer, we've failed. Simple Mode is the path that makes sure we haven't.
Pick a plan, sign in with Microsoft, name your world, press Start. That's the entire process. Garrison picks the latest stable Minecraft version, generates an icon, writes a branded MOTD, configures sensible defaults, and boots Paper.
Your permanent connection address appears on screen. Hand it to anyone. They join. You're playing in about two minutes from first click.
No plugins to download. No server.properties to find. No Java flags to Google. The power-user layer is one toggle away when you're ready — but Simple Mode never makes you look at it.
CRASH INTELLIGENCE
One sentence. Not a stack trace.
When your server crashes, Garrison reads the crash report, matches it against a library of known failure modes, and tells you what happened and what to do. In plain English.
Most panels display an exit code and a raw stack trace. If you're not a Java developer, that's useless. Garrison parses the crash report for the most common Minecraft failure modes: plugin incompatibilities, out-of-memory, Watchdog timeouts, missing dependencies, broken configs.
The diagnosis appears on your server card immediately. One line: what broke, why, and what to do about it. If the fix is 'update this plugin,' there's a link to the Plugins tab.
"EssentialsX 2.19.4 called a method removed in Paper 1.21.4. Update EssentialsX in the Plugins tab."
TPS HISTORY
30 days of performance data. No plugin.
Garrison parses TPS from your server console output, stores it, and charts it. See exactly when your server started lagging — and whether things are getting better or worse over time.
TPS (ticks per second) is the single most important Minecraft performance metric. A healthy server runs at 20.0 TPS. Below 18, players start to notice. Below 15, the server is lagging badly.
Garrison reads TPS from the console at regular intervals and stores 30 days of history. No plugin to install. No external monitoring service. The data is in your panel, charted, with the lag threshold marked.
When combined with Crash Intelligence, you can see cause and effect: the TPS dip at 6 PM was caused by a plugin update at 5:55 PM that introduced a performance regression.
30-DAY NIGHTLY BACKUPS
Every night. 30 nights. Self-service restore.
Ramparts Hosting backs up your entire server every night at 1 AM UTC. All 30 nights are in your panel. Restore any of them yourself — one click, no ticket.
Every night, Garrison creates a complete backup of your server directory and uploads it to Backblaze B2 cloud storage. 30 nights retained.
Click Restore on any backup. Garrison creates a safety backup of your current state first, then downloads and restores the selected backup. No support ticket. No waiting for a human to pull a tape.
We looked. No other host at this price point offers 30-day self-service restore from nightly backups. Most offer 3 days. Some offer zero.
SERVER GARAGE
Multiple servers. One address. Switch instantly.
Own as many server configurations as you want. Run as many as your RAM allows simultaneously. Switch between them with one click. Your players use one permanent address.
Server Garage stores multiple server configurations — different Minecraft versions, different mod setups, different worlds. Each one is a separate saved state.
You can run multiple configurations simultaneously if your RAM budget allows it. A 4 GB plan can run two 2 GB servers. Switch the active server and Velocity reconnects players automatically.
One connection address. Players never need to change anything. You control which world they land in.
SMART SCHEDULES
Conditional restarts. Not raw cron.
Garrison schedules understand Minecraft. They know whether players are online, whether TPS is degraded, and whether a restart is actually needed.
Legacy hosts restart your server at 4 AM whether anyone is playing or not. Garrison's smart schedules check conditions before acting.
'Restart if TPS has been below 18 for 10 minutes and no players are online.' 'Run a backup before any plugin update.' 'Skip the restart if no one has been online since the last one.'
You set the conditions. Garrison evaluates them. No surprises, no unnecessary restarts, no losing a build because the cron job fired during a raid.
PLAYER ANALYTICS
Sessions, retention, and playtime. From console parsing.
Garrison reads join/leave events from the console and builds player analytics with no plugin and no external service.
See who's online, who played this week, session durations, peak hours, and player retention over time. All parsed from standard Minecraft console output.
No plugin to install. No third-party analytics service. No GDPR consent forms for an external tracker. The data stays in your panel.
FILES + WEBDAV
Browse files in the panel. Mount them as a drive.
The Files tab gives you a full file browser. WebDAV lets you mount your server as a network drive on any OS.
Browse, edit, upload, download, and delete files from the Files tab. Edit server.properties, bukkit.yml, or any config file directly in the panel.
Or mount your server directory via WebDAV: it appears as a folder on your desktop. Drag-and-drop plugins, resource packs, worlds. Works on macOS, Windows, and Linux.
No SFTP client to install. No SSH keys to manage. No terminal commands to learn.
PLUGINS
One-click updates. Modrinth and Hangar.
Search and install plugins from Modrinth and Hangar directly from the Plugins tab. One-click updates when new versions are published.
Garrison's plugin tab searches both Modrinth and Hangar, filters for your Minecraft version, and installs with one click. Updates show a badge when a newer compatible version is available.
Before every plugin install or update, Garrison automatically creates a pre-action backup. If the new version breaks something, you restore in seconds.
MOTD + ICON
Format your MOTD. Preview it live.
The MOTD editor shows exactly what players see in their server list. Drag colors, add formatting, see it rendered in real time.
Minecraft's MOTD supports color codes and formatting. Garrison's editor lets you build it visually — pick colors, add bold/italic/underline, see a pixel-accurate preview of the server list entry.
Upload a custom 64x64 server icon or let Garrison generate one from your server name.
ALERTS + ACTIVITY LOG
Know what happened and when.
Discord webhook alerts for crashes, high TPS, and low RAM. Full activity log of every panel action.
Configure a Discord webhook and Garrison sends alerts for events you choose: crash detected, TPS below threshold, RAM above threshold, backup completed, backup failed.
The Activity Log records every action taken in the panel — who started the server, who changed a setting, who restored a backup. Full audit trail.
